Over the past 3 months, I have worked on a collection of designs that capture Seed to Stem’s unique atmosphere of wonder and peace with the natural world. The shop’s new logo was created to tie together the botanical and celestial aspects that make the boutique stand out among other garden stores, but also maintains their minimal aesthetic. The simplicity of the logo icon and text is important because it can be interchangeable with the new earthy color palette and not take away from the eye-catching plants and other gifts.
Working on a set of illustrations that serve as possible postcards and art prints for the shop was great to take on because it gave me the opportunity to depict the shop in a different light besides modern and minimal. These illustrations and quotes can make someone’s experience at the boutique more memorable and can also serve as great gifts that start conversation and bring in more business. I also created a few patterns for the boutique that work as tissue paper and for the business card design. One pattern is simple and includes small icons of different plants, gems, and celestial symbols on a green or white base, while the other pattern is more abstract with different size leaves mixing in with each other. Another addition to this collection is the small plant carrier which is really a fast-food cup holder, but works perfectly to transport succulents and fragile plants (precious cargo).
This project has taught me a great deal about the research and exploration that goes into rebranding a shop. Seed to Stem was incredible to work on because of how much the boutique has to offer and share with their customers. With a store this unique and captivating, a logo has to intrigue and spark curiosity in potential shoppers and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
